Within two years of joining Professional Press, Jeff had taken the organization's flagship publication, DEC Professional, from the number three magazine in a three-magazine market, to number one. But more important, he had found his Passion For Publishing. Jeff spent the next 10 years launching additional titles, expanding field sales offices, introducing supplements and special advertising sections, and publishing foreign language versions of his publications as markets demanded.
After Professional Press was sold to venture capitalists, Jeff stayed on board with the new Cardinal Business Media until he was recruited to become the VP and Group Publisher at the Springhouse Division of Reed Elsevier. Charged with turning around a steep ad revenue decline, Jeff studied revenue history categories and approached those market segments with the largest declines, in order to better understand where the money went. Within six months, Jeff had identified and launched new products that quickly turned the revenue curve upward. He also took a floundering annual trade show and gave it new life with a vigorous marketing program that resulted in profits exceeding budget by 25%!
After accomplishing his mission at Springhouse, Jeff was asked to become President of the MedMedia division of KI Lipton, the Horsham, Pennsylvania marketing communications firm. In 2006, Jeff left KI Lipton to launch Be Media Partners LLC.
